5 Stars … usually
I have purchased more than 10 of these corkscrews as gifts. The last two I purchased 10 months ago have not held up as well as the one I got for myself years before. This one is falling apart. The piece that holds the worm in place is coming out which makes the worm completely unstable. The two-stage lever is stiff to the point of being unusable. I’ve recommended this corkscrew to people for years. It was reasonably priced and worked like a dream. Not anymore. The quality just isn’t there.

Attractive and well-constructed corkscrew. The two-step lever mechanism is appreciated. Good value!

Travel opener
I like the fact that this is a good size to travel with (by car). I like that I don’t have to use a second object to cut the foil. The built in cutter on the end is helpful. Just remember to close it before opening bottle so you don’t cut yourself. The only downside is that it probably wouldn’t be allowed on public transportation.

Solid, well built and classy
As a fine dining waiter, this is a well built wine key. Needs a bit of oiling to loosen it up slightly at first but it looks nice and works very well. Well worth the price for having a nice wine key when presenting and opening up big wine for guests. I got the pakka wood design. Co-worker has the ebony with stainless end his is a bit heavier, i feel.

Would definitely recommend.

Solid
I bought this for work as a server/bartender because the ones they have at the restaurant are not cool. This one is sturdy, nice looking, and works really well. I’ve never opened a bottle of wine with more ease.

Very nicely made it does not take up a lot of space
This is a really high quality wine bottle opener. I like the fact that it falls down to the size of a pocket knife. It’s great for the travel cooler that I purchased as a gift.

The old man bottle opener and the old man couldn’t open the bottle of wine.
With these new man made corks being used. They maintain a tighter seal on the bottle. My old man bottle opener which uses man power to pull straight up couldn’t open the bottle of wine. This bottle opener uses leverage that helps you remove the cork easier. Well worth purchasing if you use wine in cooking or have a lot of parties and serve wine.

Best wine key I’ve ever had!
I’ve worked at a fine dining restaurant for over 5 years now and I’ve had this wine tool for nearly 3 years. I tend to open several bottles of wine every shift and this is the BEST tool for opening a bottle. It’s easily the most durable tool I’ve ever had.
Jason K –
Well built and ready for business
I really like this wine key..It’s a little bulkier/heavier than my normal pulltap but way better control imo..Saved a bottle from a dry cracked cork on first night using.

Seriously, Stop Searching!
Work as a waitress, and I am TERRIBLE at keeping track of my wine key – boss finally insisted I buy my own and recommended this product (of course, I am an EXTREME over-researcher, so I made sure it was the best on the market). This is not only incredibly affordable, but reliable! I use it to train any newbies in the trade but am also highly protective of it – no more losing my beautiful and functional wine key! Use it 4-5 times a day probably, so durable thus far. Would suggest looking at the customer review photos to ensure you are getting the wood stain you want, I did that and got exactly what I wanted despite the product photo being more dynamic than I was shopping for. Looking forward to any excuse to get another 🙂

Great tool for wine corks
I had to watch one of the tutorial videos to get the hang of the levers, and it works wonderfully. One of the videos also showed an easy way to start the cork screw. Learn something new every day. LOL Great tool!
Marko –
Very sturdy and nice looking
I put this after seeing it used at a winery. I like the spring loaded arm that makes the transition between the two steps easier. It is on the large and clunky side and requires a little more attention to keep from damaging the side of the corks. The fir and finish are good and the materials used seem to be top notch.

Jewelry
This is a VERY well made and finely finished. The price is ridiculously cheap. My only dislike is the cutter for removing foil. It is serrated making it difficult to cut through the foil. Still a beautiful and well made device.

Heavy duty, professional wine key.
It took me a few bottles to understand how to use the adjustable lever, and now I’m absolutely loving this tool. Highly recommend it for professional use and those of us at home who pretend to be professionals.

item was as described.
it’s a bit difficult to use but should get easier with repetition.

Finally – a great corkscrew
This corkscrew has two different ways to lever a cork loose from the bottle. So you can get the cork moving on the first tier, then change to the 2nd tier to get the cork the rest of the way out of the bottle. And it works as advertised.

Bought in August, broke in December.
I like the way it opens wine bottles. But the very first time it was dropped, it broke. Very disappointing.

Stylish and practical corkscrew
My son broke off the corkscrew trying to open a bottle of wine. I wish I had guided him, but didn’t think it would be a problem. I simply ordered another one, it is beautifully designed.

Easy to use wine key
Worth its price 10 fold. Makes opening wine bottles so easy. I used to have one when working food service and it got snubbed (for good reason!). So had to order myself another one

Second one to break in less than a year
I bought one of these when I started working at a high end cocktail bar last fall. Shortly after, the stone broke and I ordered a replacement. Now the end has broken off of the replacement, but the return window has closed. Not worth the money.

Decent Opener
The opener is well made. It’s sturdy and met my needs. However, the foil cutter did not work well. Had to refer to instructions regarding the hinged extender but all in all happy with it.

Our favorite corkscrew.
Easy to use and sturdy. It would make a great gift. I lost my ordinal one while Traveling. I replaced it as soon as possible.

Beautiful
Bought for work. It’s beautiful, looks like a much more expensive product and it works great. No issues.
J. Washington –
The two step lever is GREAT
This opener works better than any I have had. Took me a couple tries to learn how to hold it on the first step. And it slipped once, and chipped the bottle. Thankfully the cork wasn’t out yet so I was able to rinse the top incase of any glass bits.

Great Corkscrew
This is my second Hicoup corkscrew. Unfortunately I lost the first one. This was originally recommended by a friend, and now I highly recommend it. It is very solid, the foil cutter is easy to use and the spring action 2-part lever makes opening even the toughest cost easy.

Ok but
Robust, but a little clunky with sharp uncomfortable edges. The screw is a little on the fat side so doesn’t go in as easy as some. Overall, a 4

Great value
It’s well constructed, comfortable to use, the 2 step cork removal feature makes you feel like a pro.
Dale Alan –
Awesome, if you grease it.
This product is of high quality and is worth every penny… but only if you grease the rivet that holds the corkscrew to the body. Without some knife-oil, this will gall and become inoperable. If well oiled, it’s an awesome product!

Almost EIGHT YEARS of use, and GOING STRONG!
This corkscrew has been a workhorse in my kitchen since February 2015 and feels as solid now as it did then! I use a separate foil cutter but have used this to open THOUSANDS of bottles of wine without a single issue. To those wondering if the 5-Star reviews are credible, if they bought what I bought…..they are.I don’t foresee ever having to replace this corkscrew, but if I do, it will be with an identical replacement.Cheers!

nice gift 🎁
Sturdy tool to use for opening your bottles cleanly and quickly. Sharp pointy knife to cut through foil, use a little oil to ease up the tension if it’s too tough to open. Sturdy worm and wonderful 2 step system to push off of bottle. Classy style and doesn’t feel cheap at all!

This is not your father’s double hinged wine pull!
I struggled with this wine pull for a week, and I frankly thought it was defective. But there were many reviews of it by restaurant folks who open way more bottles than I do that gave it a thumbs up. There is a video of how to use it, but the video is not very good. There should be more of a close shot of how it works. So I still could not figure out the mechanics of the thing because I’m used to a regular double-hinged pull and I almost returned it. The technique for extracting the cork is not the same as it is for a regular double-hinged wine pull. Now that it has loosened up a bit and I have stumbled on the secret, it actually is easier to use: the cork comes out with one pull only, versus two pulls using a traditional pull. So I’m glad I kept at it. It also feels great in your hand and is pretty.

Life changing!!
I don’t typically write reviews, but this wine bottle opener is so life-changing that I feel compelled to say something. For the last few years, the only corkscrew I own is a cheap plasticky one lever type that someone accidentally left in my apartment. I have successfully opened zero bottles of wine with the corkscrew despite watching multiple youtube videos. I could not lift up the cork even using maximum strength. I was convinced that my arms are too weak or that I am the only one on earth who could not understand simple instructions. I resented everyone online who said that corkscrews are superior to other types of wine opening gadgets.I then purchased one of those electronic corkscrew which more or less worked but can also be quite unreliable a lot of times. When it broke after a year, I gave up and resigned to drinking sake and the occasional screw top wine. I felt completely defeated and was exhausted from the stress of opening wine bottles.I recently got back into wine, so I bought one of those Rabbit wine openers. It was super clunky and it broke the first time I used it. Out of desperation, I bought the HiCoup corkscrew and prayed to the wine Gods. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much. I finally tried opening a bottle today using this corkscrew, and it was a MAGICAL moment when the cork was lifted up like butter with hardly any effort. It turns out that my previous corkscrew was the culprit all along and I wasn’t an idiot after all. I have finally fulfilled my dream of opening my own bottle of wine without wasting 30mins of freaking out and crying every single time. I recommend this product 100%.

A GREAT Investment!
A sturdy well constructed wine opener. Built with quality parts, minimal chance of breakage with this one. So far it works GREAT!

The white is plastic not stone, very easy to break.
So I got this wine tool for my serving job. It was cute and got the job done, but the first time I dropped it the white part on the handle broke off. Very sad 🙁

Built like a tank but with a few drawbacks.
This thing is BEEFY. It feels very sturdy in the hand but the 4oz (113.4g) weight is something to consider if you’re going to carry it all day. Out of the box, all of the moving parts are overly stiff. That will go away with use but I wish they used screws so I could adjust the tension myself. The biggest problem this thing has is the sharp metal corners on the end. They will absolutely wear a hole in your pocket or apron in no time at all. I plan on rounding mine off with a file but if you’re looking for a self-defense tool this could be a feature not a bug.All in all, this is a good wine key. Well designed and built to last.

This is my second opener – works very well
Even though the opener works very well and this is my second one – someone messed up. I ordered a Rosemary wood opener like I did last time, but this one came with blonde/very light wood. That is NOT what I wanted so somewhere in the process things got mixed up. Not happy about it and it is not worth me returning it. I almost rated it poorly under giftable because the wrong one was sent, but I let it go.

It broke!
This is a beautiful and easy to use corkscrew, only it broke after fewer than 5 years of use. They don’t make ‘em like they used to.

Best wine opener I’ve owned
Love the added leverage of the hinged fulcrum, so easy to use

Not just any old corkscrew
Some people don’t know that wine corkscrews are not all created equal. They try all sorts of gizmos, most of which I also have tried and rejected. Some wine bottle openers I’ve used often enough shred the cork, making a mess as I attempt to keep cork crumbs out of the wine. That’s sometimes cuz of a too-dry cork or wrong type of corkscrew or dull point on the screw. ISome openers take more effort than I’m willing to offer. Some are not even corkscrews, using some other technique, such as sliding rails into the bottleneck and pulling or twisting the cork out. I have not once succeeded in opening a bottle of wine with that kind of opener (but somehow I’ve resisted then breaking open the bottle on the edge of a counter (gauche)). Some require more muscles than I own. Some simply don’t work for me.The best type of wine bottle opener for me is a “waiter’s corkscrew.” This has two short levers on hinges (“double-hinged fulcrum”) that take turns pushing down upon the bottle’s opening lip. The first lever gives enough torque to pull the cork halfway out. Switching to the next pulls it the rest of the way (as 10-speed bicycles have different gears to help create torque). Perhaps my description of the device and usage isn’t clear for everyone. if you don’t get the image, then go to dinner with a friend and order a bottle wine. Ask the server to show you a corkscrew and how it’s used.In particular, the HiCoup corkscrew is, first of all, a beautiful tool. It’s not just plastic and metal, but mine has rosewood for the handle (yes plain plastic and steel handles are options). It’s so artfully designed that I put it next to the wine bottles so everyone will see it and be envious (no one has admitted envy aloud…yet). The curved handle is more comfortable for me than straight ones. I get more power from my meager musculature. There’s a pop-up curved serrated blade with a sharp point that all waiter’s corkskscrews have to cut of the bottleneck’s foil. This HiCoup corkscrew (yes I’ve been considering writing a three line, 27 syllable poem about this tool) has a blade slightly curvier than others I’ve used. Perhaps the blade’s angle and how the handle fits my hand allow more pressure at the point so it cuts the foil more cleanly. With others the blade point slips off the foil a lot.I wouldn’t have — actually I never thought — that such a thing as a corkscrew would be so impressive to me.gg

NEVER had a better wine opener EVER’
